The Project
An independent practice with no digital footprint, opening in eight weeks.
Dr. Andrew Usery, MD had spent years practicing primary care in Nicholasville and decided the time was right to build a practice of his own — one focused on the kind of long-term patient relationships that drew him to medicine. The new practice had a name, a location, and a logo. The practice needed a website, a Google listing, and a social presence.
The opening date was coming soon: August 10, 2026. We got the project started with approximiately six weeks before open.
The scope required more than a simple website build. A brand-new practice needs every digital channel working simultaneously when it opens — search, maps, and social — or patients who hear about it through any one channel can’t confirm it’s real. This project required building a medical practice website design along with the right components of a digital footprint before the first patient walked through the door.

The Challenges
Three things that made this medical practice website design and digital presence launch different from a typical project.
- Zero domain authority on day one. A brand-new domain competing for local search visibility against large health system directories and physician aggregators. Local SEO fundamentals had to be perfect from the start — there would be no time to fix them later.
- A 60+ patient majority. Based on the local population, a majority of the practice’s target patients is anticipated to be adults 60 and older. Every design, accessibility, and UX decision had to be filtered through that demographic — including accessibility compliance as a baseline requirement, not an add-on.
- A complete digital presence build, not just a website. The website alone wasn’t enough. A patient who finds the practice on Facebook and then searches Google should find a verified Business Profile. One who searches Maps should find an Apple listing. All of it had to be ready to provide consistent and reliable visibility.
How It Came Together: Six weeks for a full medical practice website design
Week 1 — Foundation
Logo handoff, DNS and technical access, and accounts. The logo was already developed with in production-ready formats for digital and print use, so this was a considerable timing advantage. DNS was configured through Google Workspace, and all platform accounts — Google, Apple Business Connect, Facebook Business Manager — were created and secured.
Weeks 2–3 — Core Build
Website development and content for the medical practice website design. WordPress was installed and content was designed using Gutenberg for long-term compatibility. The full site architecture was developed around a pillar/cluster SEO model: a Services hub page linking out to nine individually optimized service pages, each with its own focus keyphrase, RankMath Pro schema markup, and heading hierarchy. Speak developed all copy — the physician bio, home page, and all nine service pages. The team at Primary Purpose Primary Care carefully reviewed and validated the content. The Google Business Profile and Apple Maps listings were built and submitted for verification in parallel.

Weeks 4-5 — Refinement & Social, WCAG review, review, and Facebook setup
The site went through a WCAG review — color contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, ARIA labels, and focus management — with revisions completed before launch. The Facebook Business Page was built out with branded cover image, About copy, and call-to-action configuration. A 12-post content calendar was developed for the first 30 days, including photo recommendations and posting notes for each post.

Week 6 — Site launch, analytics, and handoff
The website was launched to 3pcmedical.com. Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console were configured and verified. A sitemap was submitted for indexing. All listings were confirmed live and consistent across Google, Apple, and the website. The practice opened August 10, 2026.

The Work: What was built, and why it was built that way.
🌐 Medical Practice Website Design on WordPress — 3pcmedical.com
Accessibility · Gutenberg · RankMath Pro · Schema markup · GA4 · Google Search Console
The website had to do two things well: convert a skeptical first-time visitor into a patient, and earn organic search visibility in a market dominated by large health system directories and aggregator listings. Those goals shaped every decision.
The site was built in WordPress using Gutenberg blocks with a custom CSS layer. The content architecture follows a pillar/cluster SEO model — a Services Overview hub page designated as Pillar Content in RankMath, with nine service sub-pages each targeting a distinct local keyphrase. Each page has a unique H1–H2–H3 hierarchy, focus keyphrase in the first paragraph, internal links to and from the hub, and MedicalClinic or Physician schema set in RankMath’s Advanced tab. The home page carries FAQ schema across eight Q&A pairs targeting People Also Ask placements in Google search results.

- Geriatric care older adults Nicholasville KY

Design note With approximately 70% of target patients being adults 60 and older, every design decision started there. Larger default body text, high-contrast color combinations, unambiguous navigation, and prominent phone and portal call-to-action buttons above the fold. Accessibility compliance was audited and verified before launch — not as a legal formality but because the site genuinely needed to work for this population.
📍Google Business Profile + Apple Maps
Name-Address-Phone (NAP) consistency · Schema alignment · Verification · Category optimization
For a new primary care practice, local map listings are the highest-priority search channel. When a Nicholasville resident searches “primary care near me” or “family doctor Nicholasville,” the Google Map Pack appears before organic website results. Getting listed, verified, and optimized before opening gave the practice weeks of indexing time before the first patient walked in.
The Google Business Profile was built with category optimization (Primary Care Physician, Family Practice Physician), fully populated attributes and services, Q&A seed content, and photos coordinated for upload. The NAP data — Name, Address, Phone — was locked to an identical format across the website footer, GBP, Apple Maps, and the Facebook page. Website schema was written to align precisely with the GBP listing data.
Why NAP consistency matters Google uses the consistency of business information across the web as a trust signal for local rankings. A single mismatched phone number format between the website, GBP, and Apple Maps can suppress Map Pack visibility. On a new domain with no authority, these fundamentals carry more weight than they do for established sites.
📱Facebook Business Page + Content Calendar
Full setup · Branded assets · 12-post calendar · Facebook Business Manager
Facebook is the dominant social platform for adults 60 and older — the practice’s primary demographic. A well-configured page before opening gives prospective patients a place to follow the practice, share the announcement with neighbors, and find confirmation that the practice is real before they call.
A 12-post content calendar was developed covering the first 30 days from the pre-opening countdown through the one-month milestone — including health education posts targeting the 60+ audience, service spotlights, a first-person post from Dr. Usery, and organic community group posts written to read like a neighbor sharing news rather than a business announcement. Each post includes photo recommendations, posting time guidance, and contextual notes.
📈 Google Analytics 4 + Search Console
GA4 configuration · Search Console verification · Sitemap submission
Google Analytics 4 was configured and connected to the site before launch, with key events tracked including portal link clicks, phone number clicks, and page engagement. Google Search Console was verified and a sitemap submitted — giving the practice visibility into which search queries are driving traffic from day one, and a direct line to Google for any indexing issues.
For a new domain with no authority, early Search Console data is especially valuable. Understanding which keyphrases the site begins ranking for in the first 60–90 days informs what content to strengthen and where to focus the ongoing SEO retainer.
What’s Next? Phase 2 and Phase 3 are already in motion.
The website, listings, and social presence built in Phase 1 are the foundation that direct mail and digital advertising build on. Every campaign in Phase 2 and Phase 3 sends patients to a digital presence that’s already established and trustworthy.
EDDM Direct Mail Campaign

Facebook Advertising
Patient acquisition campaigns targeting adults 40+ within 15 miles of Nicholasville — built on the Facebook Business Manager account established in Phase 1.
Google Search Advertising
Paid search campaigns for high-intent local queries, filling the visibility gap while organic SEO builds domain authority over time.
Lessons from This Medical Practice Website Design: What this project reinforced about launching a new practice.
Local SEO is most valuable when it’s built first
A new domain has no authority, but it can earn local map pack visibility quickly if the fundamentals are right from day one — verified GBP, consistent NAP, proper schema, and content that matches what patients actually search for. There’s no shortcut, but there is a right order of operations.
Accessibility is a design constraint, not a checklist
WCAG compliance for a 60+ patient majority meant making decisions differently, not just running an audit at the end. Type size, contrast, navigation clarity, and button prominence all improved the design for every visitor, not just those with accessibility needs.
Content written for patients performs better than content written for search engines
Nine service pages optimized for local keyphrases could have been hollow SEO copy. Instead, each page was written to answer a real patient question. The SEO followed naturally from writing content that actually served the reader.
